Loss or damage to arms or equipment to be made good by stoppage of pay

If a police officer pawns, sells, loses by neglect, makes away with or wilfully or by neglect damages any arms, equipment, clothing or other appointments supplied to that police officer or any Government property committed to that police officer's charge that police officer may, in addition to or in lieu of any other punishment, be ordered to make good, either partially or wholly, the amount of such loss or damage, and the amount may be recovered by stoppage from that police officer's pay, subject to section 106(2) and (3).
An order under subsection (1) shall not be enforced at a rate exceeding one-third of the officer's monthly pay unless the police officer volunteers to pay the amount in full or at a higher rate.
