Restriction on issue of health insurance

No person carrying on business in or from within the Islands, other than an approved insurer, shall issue a contract of health insurance to provide insurance cover in respect of health care benefits relating to a person resident in the Islands.
A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of one hundred thousand dollars and to imprisonment for one year, and in the case of a continuing offence to a fine of ten thousand dollars for each day during which the offence continues.
