22. Where any person for whose appearance or arrest a court is empowered to issue a summons or warrant is present in such court, the court may require such person to execute a bond, with or without sureties, or make a deposit of money in lieu thereof, for that person’s appearance in such court on such date as may be appointed: Provided that the court may, on the application of a surety at any time, release the person wholly or partially and with or without conditions from the surety’s obligations under the bond if the court is satisfied that it would be just to do so.
