Disposal of seized dogs

Dogs seized under section 47 shall be retained at the police station or in a dog pound for a period of seven days if unclaimed by the owner, after which they may be sold or handed over to the Department of Agriculture for destruction. The proceeds of sale of stray dogs shall be appropriated to the expenses of the maintenance of the dog pound.
