Responsibility for trespass by animals

The owner of any livestock, other than honey bees, shall take proper and effective measures to prevent them from trespassing on land in the occupation or ownership of another, and from straying on to the public highway and, subject to sections 34 and 35, the owner of such animals shall be responsible in damages for any injury or damage caused or done by the animal when so trespassing or straying.
