Seizure of cash

A customs officer or a constable may seize any cash if that person has reasonable grounds for suspecting that it is recoverable property or intended by any person for use in unlawful conduct.
A customs officer or a constable may also seize cash part of which that person has reasonable grounds for suspecting to be recoverable property or intended by any person for use in unlawful conduct if it is not reasonably pract icable to seize only that part.
After a seizure is made by a customs officer under this section, the Director of Customs and Border Control shall within thirty days of the seizure, report that seizure to the Financial Reporting Authority.
