A person who wilfully makes a statement in a document, material, evidence or information which is required to be delivered to the Registrar under this Act that, at the time and in the light of the circumstances under which the statement is made, is false or misleading with respect to any material fact, or that wilfully omits to state any material fact the omission of which makes the statement false or misleading, commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars or imprisonment for three months, or to both.
A person who makes a false declaration under this Act commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of one thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of three months, or to both.
Where an offence under this Act committed by a body corporate is proved to have been committed with the consent or connivance of, or to be attributable to any neglect on the part of any director, man ager, secretary, or other similar officer of the body corporate, or any person purporting to act in any such capacity, the director, manager, secretary, or other similar officer of the body corporate, as well as the body corporate, shall be guilty of the s ame offence and liable in the same manner to the penalty provided for that offence.
