The Attorney General may, of their own motion, discharge the articles of an articled clerk on such terms as the Attorney General thinks fit, including terms as to the return of any premium if —
the attorney-at-law to whom the articled clerk is articled is declared bankrupt or their name is struck off the Court Roll;
the Attorney General is satisfied after investigation that the articled clerk is morally unfit to become an attorney-at-law; or
upon the application of either the attorney-at-law or the articled clerk the Attorney General is satisfied that the articles ought to be discharged.
