Appointment of Registrar of the Identification Register

There is established the office of the Registrar of the Identification Register who is responsible for keeping and maintaining the register and the administration of this Act, and such person shall be a civil servant and hold office in accordance with the Public Service Management Act (2018 Revision).
A person shall not be appointed to the office of the Registrar under subsection (1) if the person —
is a Member of Parliament or has held such office in the three years preceding the proposed appointment as Registrar; or
has been convicted of a violent crime or a crime of dishonesty or theft, for which the person has not been pardoned.
