Warrants of committal

For the purpose of subjecting a drug offender to imprisonment as a term of sentence pursuant to section 14(2)(f) or 15, the Drug Court may issue a warrant committing the drug offender to a prison.
A warrant under this section —
authorises a constable, or any officer acting under the authority of the Director of Prisons, to have custody of the drug offender named in the warrant, to convey the drug offender to the prison specified in the warrant and to deliver the drug offender into the custody of the Director of Prisons or any officer acting under his authority; and
authorises the Director of Prisons to have custody of the drug offender named in the warrant for the period of time specified in the warrant.
