If no motion in arrest of judgment is made, or if the court decides against the accused person upon such motion, the court may sentence the accused person at any time during the session of the court in which the trial took place or may, in its discretion, discharge the accused person on the accused person's own recognisances or on that of such sureties as the court may think fit, or both, to appear and receive judgment at the same or some future sitting of the court or when called upon.
