Voluntary attendance at the police station

68. Where for the purpose of assisting with an investigation a person attends voluntarily at a police station or at any other place where a police officer is present or accompanies a police officer to a police station or any other place without having been arrested —
the person shall be entitled to leave at will unless the person is placed under arrest; or
the person shall be informed at once that the person is under arrest if a decision is taken by a police officer to prevent that person from leaving at will.
