Prohibited activities

Except as expressly authorised by this Law, the Authority may not —
engage in trade or otherwise have a direct interest in any commercial, agricultural, industrial or other undertaking except such interest as the Authority may acquire in the course of the satisfaction of debts due to it, so, however, that it shall be the duty of the Authority to dispose of any such interest so acquired at the earliest suitable opportunity;
purchase shares of any company including the shares of any banking company or public corporation;
make loans to any person; or
purchase, acquire or lease real property except so far as the board considers necessary or expedient for the provision or future provision of business premises for the Authority or of any other requirement incidental to the performance of its functions under this Law.
