Summary remedy where goods fraudulently removed, etc., do not exceed one hundred dollars in value

Any tenant who fraudulently carries off or conceals his goods and chattels which do not exceed in value the sum of one hundred dollars so as to prevent the same being taken by the landlord or his agent for distress is guilty of an offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine of ten dollars, and the court shall further adjudge the offender to pay to the landlord double the value of the goods and chattels so carried off or concealed and in default of such payment the offender shall be liable to imprisonment for sixty days.
