Offences and employee's rights in respect of wages

31. (1) Any employer who —
enters into any agreement or contract or gives any remuneration for employment contrary to section 28, 29 or 30;
makes any deduction from the wages of any employee or receives any payment from any employee contrary to the said sections; or
otherwise contravenes the said sections, commits an offence.
In addition to the offence under subsection (1), an employee shall be entitled to recover by action in the appropriate Court so much of that person’s wages, exclusive of sums lawfully deducted, as shall not have been actually paid to that person together with interest thereon at the rate of ten per cent per annum.
