Satisfaction of judgment debts

Where a court has given judgment for the payment of any sum of money such sum shall be payable forthwith, and —
if the judgment sum or any part thereof is paid into court, the Clerk of the Court shall enter satisfaction in full or pro tanto as the case may be;
if there are cross-judgments between the parties, the difference only shall be payable by the party liable to pay such difference;
the judgment creditor, the judgment creditor’s personal representative or advocate shall, upon receiving full satisfaction from the judgment debtor, if so requested in writing by the judgment debtor, authorise the Clerk of the Court in writing to enter satisfaction in full upon the court record and, should the judgment creditor fail so to do within one week of being so requested, the judgment creditor shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding one hundred dollars payable to the judgment debtor at the order of the court.
