False or misleading information

Where information is provided by a person to the Office in connection with any function of the Office under Part 4, that person commits an offence if —
the information is false or misleading in a material particular; and
that person knows that it is or is reckless as to whether it is.
A person who —
provides any information to another person, knowing the information to be false or misleading in a material particular; or
recklessly provides any information to another person which is false or misleading in a material particular,
knowing that the information is to be used for the purpose of providing information to the Office in connection with any of its functions under Part 4, commits an offence.
A person who commits an offence under this section is liable on summary conviction to a fine of four thousand dollars and on conviction on indictment to a fine and to imprisonment for two years.
