A registered practitioner who, without reasonable excuse, contravenes a temporary order commits an offence and is liable to a fine of twenty thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of one year, or both.
In a proceeding for an offence against subsection (1), it is a defence for the defendant to prove that the defendant did not know, and could not reasonably have been expected to know, that the defendant's conduct amounted to the offence.
