Operative directive

A directive operates only while the directive-maker is mentally incompetent.
A directive shall cease to operate on the occasion of the following —
if the directive is revoked pursuant to this Act;
if the directive states an expiry day, on that day; or
if the directive-maker dies.
A directive that is in operation under subsection (1) is an "operative" directive.
