Recovery of expenses

Where, in the case of a live specimen which is seized or forfeited under this Act, the Management Authority incurs any expenses in connection with, —
the live specimen's return to the wild;
its being kept at premises (whether within or outside the Islands) which are suitable for the keeping of the specimen; or
its disposal,
those expenses may be recovered, as a civil debt due to the Crown, from the importer or intending exporter of the specimen or from any person possessing or having control of it at the time of seizure.
