81. (1) No person shall with intent —
perform an act; or
fail or omit to perform an act, in relation to the generation or transmission and distribution of electricity where such performance or failure of performance is dangerous to the security of the Islands or contrary to the public interest or public order.
A person who contravenes subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable —
on summary conviction to a fine of one hundred thousand dollars; or Electricity Sector Regulation Law (2019 Revision) Section 82 c Revised as at 1st January, 2019 Page 35
on conviction on indictment to a fine of two hundred thousand dollars and to imprisonment for ten years.
In addition to any other penalty provided by this section, equipment used to commit an offence under this section may by order of the Court be forfeited to the Government on conviction of the owner or other person having control of such equipment or apparatus.
