Denoting payment of duty

Where the duty with which an instrument is chargeable depends in any manner upon the duty paid upon another instrument, the fact of the payment of the last mentioned duty shall, upon application to the Commissioner and production to him of both instruments, be denoted by the Commissioner by endorsement under his hand upon the first instrument in such manner as he thinks fit.
