Duration of leases

49. (1) Where the period of a lease is expressed as commencing on a particular day, that day is excluded in computing that period. Registered Land Law Section 50 c Revised as at 28th day of February, 2018 Page 29
Where no day of commencement is named, the period commences on the date of execution of the lease, and that day is excluded in computing that period.
Where the period is a year or a number of years, in the absence of an express agreement to the contrary, the lease shall last during the whole anniversary of the day on which such period commences.
