23. (1) Where a warrant to search any premises is required, the inspector or deputy inspector shall apply to the court or to a justice of the peace and the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (2021 Revision) which relate to search warrants shall apply accordingly.
Where access to premises is denied, an inspector or deputy inspector may break and enter those premises to gain access for the purpose of an arrest.
The search of a person under section 22 shall be carried out by an inspector or deputy inspector of the same gender as that person or by a constable of the same gender as that person in the presence of the inspector or deputy inspector.
