269. A person who —
attempts unlawfully to set fire to anything that is mentioned in section 267; or Section 270 Penal Code (2026 Revision) Page 120 Revised as at 31st December, 2025 c
wilfully and unlawfully sets fire to anything which is so situated that any such thing as is mentioned in section 267 is likely to catch fire from it, commits an offence and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.
