Disposals of surplus premises

The Council shall, from time to time, review its requirements for premises, and any premises in the possession of the Council which are no longer required for the purposes of the Council shall be disposed of in accordance with this section.
Premises which were transferred to the Council by the Government for no consideration or for a nominal consideration shall be transferred by the Council to the Government for no consideration or for the same nominal consideration.
Premises other than those to which subsection (2) applies shall be offered to the Government for purchase by agreement.
If notice is given in writing on behalf of the Government that it does not wish to purchase the premises offered to it under subsection (3), the Council may dispose of the premises on the open market to the Council's best advantage.
