Interpretation

In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires —
has the meaning assigned by section 2 of the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision);
has the meaning ascribed to it in the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision);
means the Chairperson of the Board;
means premises to which this Act does not apply by virtue of section 2A;
has the meaning ascribed to it in the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision);
and its cognates means licensed under this Act;
means a licence of a category established by section 4(b);
means those hours in which licensed premises are not ordered by the Board to be closed to the public and includes the hours covered by permission given under section 3(3) or an extension of permitted hours under section 9(2);
means the body corporate established by section 3 of the Port Authority Act (1999 Revision);
means premises —
with respect to which a charge is made for admission;
where food or refreshment is supplied to the public for a charge; or
which are licensed under the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision), but do not include exempted premises;
means a vessel —
approved by the Port Authority as being a suitable vessel for the purposes of section 7(7) of the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision); and
in respect of which a retail licence has been issued under section 7(7) of the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision);
means a bar which is not located in a hotel or restaurant, and in respect of which a retail licence has been issued under the Liquor Licensing Act (2019 Revision);
means a licence of a category established by section 4(c); and
means a public officer in the Department of Commerce and Investment appointed as such and assigned by the chief officer, or the chief officer's designate, to perform the duties of trade officer under this Act.
