Cancellation of a certificate

The Chief Executive Officer may cancel a certificate issued under this Part where the Chief Executive Officer has reason to believe that —
the certificate was issued on false or erroneous information; or
since any survey required by this Part, the structure, equipment or machinery has sustained damage or is otherwise deficient.
The Chief Executive Officer may require that a certificate issued under this Part which has expired or has been cancelled be surrendered as directed.
No person shall —
intentionally alter a certificate referred to in this Part;
intentionally make a false certificate referred to in this Part;
in connection with any survey required by this Part, knowingly or recklessly furnish false information;
with intent to deceive, use, lend or allow to be used by another, a certificate referred to in this Part; or
fail to surrender a certificate required to be surrendered under subsection (2).
In this section the word "certificate" includes a document issued to a company.
