57. (1) A person who commences to operate a workplace shall, within one month of such commencement, file with the Director a written notice stating the particulars prescribed in subsection (3). Labour Act (2021 Revision) Section 58 c Revised as at 31st December, 2020 Page 35
Whenever there is a material change in any of the particulars appearing in any notice filed under subsection (1), the person operating the workplace shall, within one month of it taking place, file with the Director a written notice setting forth such change.
The particulars to be submitted by the operator of a workplace are —
the name of the operator of the workplace;
the address and location of the workplace;
a brief description of the work carried on in the workplace;
whether machines are used, and, if so, their nature;
the total number of persons employed in the workplace; and
where persons are employed in shifts, the maximum number employed at any one time.
