Dependants of Residency and Employment Rights Certificate holders

A dependant of a Residency and Employment Rights Certificate holder, having attained the age of eighteen years, may apply to the Board or the Chief Immigration Officer for a Residency and Employment Rights Certificate and shall, at the discretion of the Board or the Chief Immigration Officer, be granted the right to permanently reside in the Islands under section 30(1) if —
he was declared in the original application for the Certificate;
he is found to be of good character and conduct;
he has been legally and ordinarily resident in the Islands for at least seven years immediately prior to the application; and
the holder of the Residency and Employment Rights Certificate continues to possess it or has become a Caymanian.
An application under subsection (1) shall be made prior to his attaining the age of nineteen, if his parent’s Residency and Employment Rights Certificate has not been varied so that he may remain a dependant during his tertiary education or within six months of the end of such education but in either case it shall be made no later than his twenty-fourth birthday.
