Statements of eligibility on special educational needs

The outcomes of an assessment carried out under this Part shall, if the student is found to have special educational needs, be set out by the responsible authority in a statement of eligibility specifying those needs and the provision to be made in relation to them.
Upon completion of a statement of eligibility under subsection (1) and upon completion of any revision by the responsible authority of such a statement of eligibility, written consent to initiate provision shall be requested by the responsible authority from the parent or legal guardian of the student to whom the statement of eligibility relates and a copy of the statement of eligibility shall be sent by the responsible authority, prior to its implementation, to the parents or legal guardians of that student and to the school leader for the school at which that student is registered.
