Disclosure to the inspector

Subject to section 12(2), any prohibition or restriction imposed by law, including any contract, in relation to the disclosure of information does not apply in relation to —
the disclosure of information in good faith to, or access to information by, an inspector for the purposes of his functions under this Law; or
any information that is contained in a report under section 12(1) and is information that in the inspector’s opinion ought, in the public interest, to be so contained,
and no liability shall attach to the person or account provider making the disclosure.
Nothing in this section or in section 12 compels the disclosure by any person of any information that the person would, in the opinion of any court, be entitled to refuse to produce on the grounds of legal professional privilege or authorizes the taking possession of any document containing such information that is in the person’s possession.
