Duties of the Regiment

The Regiment is responsible for —
the defence of the Islands;
assisting the Royal Cayman Islands Police Service and the Coast Guard when called upon to do so by the Governor; and
providing such humanitarian assistance and disaster relief and other duties as the Governor, after consultation with the Premier, determines.
In the performance of their duties, members of the Regiment may, with the authority of the Commanding Officer or the delegate of the Commanding Officer, carry firearms.
