The Grand Court shall, in either case, set the appeal down for hearing on such day, and shall cause notice of the same to be published in such manner, as the court may direct: Provided that, except when otherwise agreed by the parties, not less than five days' notice shall be given by the court of the date appointed for the hearing of an appeal.
