Protection of persons disclosing confidential information

A person who divulges any confidential information or gives any testimony in conformity with a request shall not be considered to commit an offence under the Confidential Information Disclosure Act, 2016 [Law 23 of 2016] by reason only of such disclosure or the giving of such testimony.
Any disclosure or testimony to which subsection (1) refers shall be deemed not to be a breach of any confidential relationship between that person and any other person, and no civil claim or action shall lie against the person making such disclosure or giving such testimony or against such person’s principal or employer by reason of such disclosure or testimony.
