The office of a member shall become vacant —
at the expiration of four years from the date of that person's appointment;
if the member is absent from three consecutive meetings of the Commission, unless the absence is approved by the Governor;
if the member resigns that member's office by writing under that member's hand addressed to the Governor;
if the member is removed from office by the Governor for inability to discharge the functions of that member's office (whether arising from infirmity of body or mind or any other cause) or for misbehaviour; or

If the office of a member is vacant or a member is for any reason unable to perform the functions of that member's office, the Governor, acting in accordance with subsection (2) as that person would for an original appointment, may appoint a person who is qualified for appointment as a member to act as a member, and a person so appointed shall continue so to act until the expiration of that member's term of office.
