Duties of chief officer of a ministry or portfolio

The chief officer of a ministry or portfolio shall ensure that that person's ministry or portfolio —
complies with its duties under section 37;
delivers the outputs specified in that person's budget statement prepared in accordance with section 42;
achieves the ownership performance specified in that person's budget statement prepared in accordance with section 42; and
complies with this Act.
A chief officer of a ministry or portfolio shall work with the Chief Officers of the other ministries or portfolios to —
provide co-ordinated and integrated policy advice to the Cabinet; and
assist the Cabinet to prepare the reports and documents required to be prepared by the Cabinet under this Act.
