Exemptions and agreements

Where the Commission is of the opinion that its mandate to regulate the use of public land in the public interest can best be achieved by, or in cooperation with, another Ministry, statutory authority, government company or other entity that has charge and management of a particular area of public land, the Commission may, subject to approval by Cabinet —
exempt that area from the application of all or any of the Regulations; or
enter into an agreement with the Ministry, statutory authority, government company or other entity to regulate that area and to enforce the Regulations in respect of that area in collaboration with the Ministry, statutory authority, government company or other entity.
Any exemption granted by the Commission or agreement entered into under subsection (1) shall be published by Government Notice in the Gazette before the date of commencement of the exemption or agreement.
