General effects of presumption of death order

Subject to section 4(11), a presumption of death order has the same effect in law as arises from the registration of a death under the Births and Deaths Registration Law (2007 Revision).
A presumption of death order has the effect of ending a marriage to which the missing person is a party.
A presumption of death order is effective against all persons and for all purposes, including for the purposes of the acquisition of an interest in any property.
