Compensation for damage

143. If the property of a police officer or special constable is damaged during the performance of any duty or training by that police officer or special constable under this Act, that property being damaged without that police officer’s or that special constable’s default and on account of circumstances specifically attributable to the nature of that police officer’s or that special constable’s duties as such, that police officer shall be compensated out of public funds upon a scale assessed by the Commissioner.
