A pawnbroker who knowingly takes in pawn any linen, apparel or unfinished goods or materials entrusted to any person to wash, scour, iron, mend, manufacture, work up, finish or make up is guilty of an offence, and on conviction before the Grand Court, liable to forfeit a sum not exceeding double the amount of the loan; and the pawnbroker shall likewise restore the pledge to the owner thereof, in the presence of the Judge or as the Judge may direct.
