In a claim for medical negligence, the civil liability (including vicarious liability) for non-economic damages is limited to an amount not exceeding five hundred thousand dollars for each claimant, regardless of the number of —
registered practitioners against whom; and
health care facilities in respect of which,
the claim is asserted or the number of separate causes of action on which the claim is based.
