The Council consists of seven members as follows —
the Chief Justice;
the Attorney General;
a non-practising attorney-at-law who is a Caymanian appointed by the Premier;
a non-practising attorney-at-law who is a Caymanian appointed by the Leader of the Opposition;
two practising attorneys-at-law who are Caymanians appointed by the Premier after consultation with the bodies representing the legal profession; and
a practising attorney-at-law who is a Caymanian appointed by the Leader of the Opposition after consultation with the bodies representing the legal profession.
The appointment of an appointed member shall be by instrument in writing.
A copy of the instrument under subsection (2) shall be filed with the Clerk of the Court.
