If any property of an assisted person is subject to a charge, the Director may, if he considers that it would be unjust or unreasonable to require immediate payment of the amount charged, enter into an agreement with the assisted person for the release of all or part of the property from all or part of the charge.
The agreement may provide for all or part of the charge to attach to any other property of the assisted person, and may be subject to conditions.
The agreement has the effect of —
releasing from the charge any property agreed to be released from the charge; and
subjecting any property agreed to be subject to a charge to the charge as agreed.
