The Chief Justice, other Judges of the Grand Court, the Chief Magistrate and other Magistrates of the Summary Court, shall be paid annual salaries, pensions, other allowances, emoluments and benefits from such other ancillary terms and conditions of employment as may be agreed, from dates specified, and in accordance with scales to be prescribed, from time to time, by Order by the Governor acting in his or her discretion.
Any payment of pensions in respect of the Chief Magistrate or any other Magistrate from the Judicial Pensions Plan shall be restricted to payments from the defined contribution part of the Judicial Pensions Plan from the date of their inclusion in that part of the Plan on 1st January, 2016.
For the avoidance of doubt, no payments shall be made to the Chief Magistrate or any other Magistrate from the defined benefit part of the Judicial Pensions Plan, irrespective of the date on which the Chief Magistrate or other Magistrate was appointed.
The Public Service Pensions Board, established under section 5 of the Public Service Pensions Law (2017 Revision), shall be responsible for the general administration of pensions under this Law, and the Governor, may by Order, regulate such administration by the Board.
Without derogating from the generality of subsection (2), an order made under subsection (2) may contain provisions which are retrospective in effect and may provide for—
the powers and duties of the Board under this Law;
the establishment of a pension fund;
the calculation of benefits;
the correction of mistakes in administering pensions;
communications to participants;
accounts, book-keeping and reporting;
actuarial valuation.
