Appointment, powers and duties of Deputy Supervisors

The Governor shall, in the Governor's discretion, appoint no fewer than three persons to be Deputy Supervisors of Elections and those persons shall —
hold an office in the public service;
have formerly held an office in the public service; or
if not previously employed in the public service, be a person who has extensive experience as an elections officer.
Subject to the general direction and supervision of the Supervisor and to such conditions, exceptions and qualifications as that Supervisor may direct, each Deputy Supervisor shall have and may exercise such of the functions, powers and duties conferred or imposed upon the Supervisor by this Act as the Supervisor may in writing delegate to that person, unless by this or any other law expressly prohibited from so doing.
