Investigation of accidents and incidents

In the event of any accident or incident involving aircraft, the Governor may appoint any competent person or persons to conduct an investigation into the causes of the accident or incident, and the result of such investigation shall be submitted to the Governor in writing.
A person appointed by the Governor under subsection (1), in the course of carrying out his duties, shall have towards the general public, powers equivalent to those exercisable by the Commissioner of Police in the carrying out of his duties, and that person shall take precedence over the Commissioner when that person is engaged in investigating an accident or incident involving aircraft.
