Misleading, obstructing or impeding the Registrar

A person shall not wilfully mislead the Registrar by providing false information to the Registrar.
A person shall not wilfully obstruct or impede the Registrar in the exercise of the Registrar's functions under this Act.
For the purposes of subsections (1) and (2), a reference to the Registrar includes a reference to any staff of the office of the Registrar or any other person delegated to carry out the duties of the Registrar under this Act.
A person who contravenes subsection (1) or (2) commits an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of twenty thousand dollars or to imprisonment for a term of two years, or to both.
