Powers of competent authority to verify

The API provided under section 3(2) shall be verified by the competent authority during physical processing of any crew member or passenger at any port of entry or exit by comparing the API information to the information contained in the travel document presented by the crew member or the passenger.
The competent authority shall, if any discrepancy is found in the API, correct the data at the port of entry or departure and update the information in APIS after verifying the information from the travel document or other relevant documents of the crew member or passenger.
